I put in a load of laundry and realized we were out of laundry soap, so I grated up a bar of Sunlight soap, fels naptha al la Canada. I melted it in a pot of water, added 1/2c each of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda powder and Borax powder. I made a big pail of homemade laundry soap. I grated up two bars of FelsNaptha into a gallon of water on the stove, let it dissolve, added 1/2 a cup each of borax and washing soda and brought it to a boil. Then I poured it into four more gallons of water in the pail. So now I have five gallons of laundry soap under the sink. Excellent ( Read more... )
